SHOWBIZ glitz didn’t get in the way of true love in Ayr on Saturday.

Rock guitar hero Simon Neil wed gorgeous Francesca Pieroni.

Simon’s Biffy Clyro bandmates, twins Ben and James Johnston, were there for the big event.

The Ayrshire band have gone into orbit since last year’s release of fourth album Puzzle.

And they now have a hectic schedule of touring and recording.

But nothing was going to get in the way of the wedding at Ayr St Columba Church.

Simon famously has God Only Knows What I’d Be Without You tattooed on his chest.

And the celebrated Beach Boys lyric refers to his lovely bride, who wore a beautiful pale gold silk and lace dress.

Simon’s dad Gordon owns Ayr Indoor Bowling Club, while Francesca’s family are the well-known fish merchants.

Francesca teaches English at Cumnock Academy, and the newlyweds’ home base is in Ayr.
