Historic show in full bloom

GIRVAN’S historic flower show attracted exhibitors from far and wide.

The show is first recorded in 1852, and Girvan and District Horticultural Society are its proud custodians.

It was held in the North Parish Church Hall, and was opened by Conn Lynch of Grant’s Distillery, who also presented the trophies to prize-winners, including Jimmy Boyle from Dalmellington, who had most points in the show.
