Eco prize for Mitsubishi
PIONEERING work by Japanese engineers has been singled out for special recognition at a major European car event.
Judges at the 25th international automobile festival in Paris awarded the Mitsubishi i-MiEV electric city car with a special environment prize.
The panel of 18 judges described the model as the best example of a project for sustainable mobility in terms of environmental protection.
On sale in Japan since last July, the zero-emissions i-MiEV will be launched in Europe at the end of this year with a charging system compatible with household power outlets.
In a contest staged alongside the festival, the forthcoming Peugeot RCZ coupe was voted the most beautiful car of the year.
