High value for Honda's next CR-V

HONDA claims it will maintain its tradition of high value in the sport utility sector when the next CR-V model arrives in the showrooms in January.

With revised front and rear bumpers and higher-grade interior trim, the all-drive family car will feature more equipment as standard in a bid to retain the class-leading residual values of its predecessor.

Costing from £20,175, the Swindon-built model will also be available with the Japanese company's new I-DTEC 2.2-litre diesel engine that can be paired with a five-speed automatic transmission.

Manual examples of the diesel powered vehicle can reach 62mph in 9.6 seconds and go on to 118mph all-out and figures for the automatic versions are 10.6 seconds and 116mph respectively. In manual form, the car returns 43.5mpg.

The SE grade will have newly-designed, 17-inch alloy wheels as standard, along with air conditioning, an auxiliary socket, cloth upholstery and power-heated door mirrors.

ES models stand on 18-inch, 10-spoke alloys, an auto-dimming mirror, cruise control, double-deck cargo space, electric folding mirrors, half leather and Alcantara heated seats, headlight washers, front fog lights, leather steering wheel trim, rear parking sensors, unique interior inlay trims and a USB connector for an iPod.

Top-line EX models have full body-coloured bumpers, DVD voice-activated satellite navigation, full leather upholstery, Xenon headlights and auto headlight on function, panoramic roof, rain sensor, reverse tilt mirror and eight-way driver power seat.
