Porsche reveals new Panamera super saloon
PORSCHE has released the first pictures of its new four-door supercar that is due to go on sale next summer.
An obvious rival for the likes of the Maserati Quattroporte and Mercedes CLS, the Panamera will be the fourth model in the Porsche sports car line-up alongside the 911, Boxster and Cayman.
Described as a stylish and high-powered four-door grand tourer, it will come with a choice of rear wheel drive or four wheel drive.
Initially there will be petrol engines with power outputs ranging from 300bhp to 500bhp but in due course there will be a hybrid and the likely use of diesels borrowed from Audi.
These engines will be mated to either a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic transmission system.
At this stage Porsche is offering few other details although it has released dimensions of 196 inches in length, 76 inches wide and just 56 inches high to create a long, low-slung sleek appearance.
