Get on down with Fabia Sport
SKODA has raised the prices of its Fabia Sport range by the equivalent of just under £200 per centimetre.
The Czech car company has announced that it has lowered the ride height of these models by one and a half centimetres for an extra cost of almost £300.
The company says that the 15mm tweak to the suspension gives the cars a sportier look, which enhances their desirability and makes them worth more.
The actual increase of £290 applies to the two petrol and diesel models in the range, which now starts with the 1.2-litre 70bhp petrol model at £10,880. The 1.6-litre 105bhp version now costs £12,035. The entry-level diesel model is the 1.4 TDI 80bhp costing £12,340 while the 1.9 TDI 105bhp version weighs in at £13,025.
Despite the badge and newly-lowered suspension, the Sport models have the same power and performance as their non-Sport equivalents.
They also have 16-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights, halogen headlights with DE module, curtain airbags, air conditioning, electric front windows, sunset glass, a trip computer and most importantly for the look, a full body kit.
The 1.2-litre petrol Fabia Sport has a 0-60mph acceleration time of 15 seconds, top speed of 100mph, economy of 48mpg and a CO2 rating of 140g/km.
