We love our passion wagons

A SURVEY by fish4cars suggests that we are a nation of amorous drivers who like nothing more than a little passion on the road.

The survey of 18 to 50 year olds identified that 62% have been caught in a compromising position in their car more than once. Only 12% of those surveyed claimed to have never been caught out despite having been quite active in their car.

Out of those surveyed, 80% admitted to being frisky in their car between the age of 16 to 35 years, 6% claim that they were using their car for romantic encounters over the age of 35 years, and only 13% claimed they had never had an amorous encounter in a car before.

When asked if they had ever bought a car with the sole purpose of engaging in amorous activities, 3% of those surveyed confirmed that they had bought a car to give them privacy away from the home.

More than half of those surveyed claimed they have never been caught by a member of the public.

Only 5% have been caught out regularly and 11% were caught out just once.

The most popular passion wagons were the Ford Fiesta, BMW 3 Series, Vauxhall Astra, Porsche 911, Mini Cooper, Mazda MX-5 and Land Rover.

The smart, a black cab and a limousine have all fallen victim to the romantic engagements between frisky couples.

In one case a car rolled down hill in the midst of an embrace and crashed into a tree. The couple had to be rescued by the fire services just outside their family home.

In another case the handbrake of the car broke in the throes of passion and the man had to visit accident and emergency for treatment.

Many couples say they have been spotted by other couples, police, ramblers and teenagers whilst busying themselves in their car, which on one occasion was in a supermarket car park.

fish4cars head of sales Stewart Black, says: 'The results from this survey show that Brits are exciting lovers who enjoy an adventure.

"The survey shows that we do live up to our reputation of being hot-headed lovers who like nothing more than a touch of risk to spice up our lives.'
