Subaru expands diesel range
SUBARU will be celebrating its 50th anniversary at next month?s Paris Motor Show by showing off new diesel versions of the Forester SUV and the Impreza hatchback.
The two-litre Boxer diesel engine ? the world?s first flat-four cylinder diesel ? is already fitted to the Japanese car maker?s Legacy saloon and estate.
Subaru claims that in the Forester it will deliver a class-leading 44.8mpg.
Both the Forester and Impreza Boxer diesels feature new six-speed manual gearboxes while the engine itself benefits from a new diesel particulate filter with emissions as low as 167g/km in the Forester.
To mark its golden jubilee Subaru will also be displaying its original 360 minicar as well as concept electric vehicles, some of which are already on test in Tokyo.
The diesel Forester is due on sale in late September while the oil burning Impreza will arrive early next year.
