FLIRTATIOUS females admit to using their feminine charm to flirt their way out of a parking ticket. Oh, this takes me back a few years.
A YouGov survey has revealed that 26% of women drivers would give a bat of their eyelashes or a hint of cleavage as a means of avoiding or reducing penalty points. Absolutely.
In thw survey of 2,181 adults for Diva, a new car insurance provider specifically designed for women, 34% of 18-24 year olds said they would give or consider giving a traffic warden the come on – branding young people as the most brazen behind the wheel. Well why not. How many tubes of mascara could you buy with the £60 parking fine revoked?
However, this takes a brave woman to break the ice of these stony faced traffic wardens now that they get commission for each ticket they issue.
Drivers from Yorkshire displayed the most temptress tendencies – 25% said they would turn on the charm if faced with potential penalty points.
I will admit to resorting to my feminine side to avoid a parking ticket recently. Sadly despite lashings of eye fluttering, all the charm I could muster and even using the children to plead poverty, it got me absolutely nowhere as the warden slapped the ticket on my windscreen.
Was it because I was a more mature driver? Years ago when I lived in the USA I was privileged to have the use of a beautiful black Mercedes convertible. Needless to say, not knowing the regulations at such a young age, I was parked illegally waiting for someone when I noticed a policeman sauntering up towards me pen and paper posed in his hand. I innocently stepped out of the car.
Wrong thing to do in the States as I found myself staring down the barrel of the policeman’s gun. Never get out of the car in the USA if you are pulled over. Wait in the car for the policeman to come to you.
Did I flatter my eyelashes to get off this parking ticket? Not quite. How about bursting into uncontrollable floods of tears from sheer terror. Mascara all over the place, the policeman did, however let me off with a warning.
Some may say we females are shrewd when it comes to getting ourselves out of trouble.
I say if you have it, flaunt it.
