A TROON model has lit up the catwalk at a star-studded charity bash.
But 82-year-old Netta Hastings was no ordinary fashion queen as she stole the show.
The Breast Cancer Care bash raised £235,000 at Glasgow’s Radisson Hotel, with Netta chosen from hundreds of applicants to appear.
She was one of 20 models who strutted their stuff in front of more than 1000 people during two shows.
Netta, who survived breast cancer 46 years ago, is still fighting fit and used the event to give others hope.
She admitted: “It was an absolutely amazing feeling to be up on the catwalk along with other such inspirational men and women.
“After what we’ve all gone through it was great to be part of something so glamorous and special. It’s wonderful that I can promote the important work of Breast Cancer Care.”
All of the models on show have either beaten breast cancer or are still to go through treatment. And inspirational Netta led the way, being transformed into a catwalk queen.
Colin Graham, of Breast Cancer Care Scotland, said: “Yet again, the fashion shows have been a fantastic success, raising more money for Breast Cancer in Scotland than ever before.
“We could not have achieved this remarkable feat had it not been for our fantastic models.
“Their confidence, grace and sense of fun was remarkable and really made the night the success that it was.
“The money raised will allow Breast Cancer Care to continue to provide information, practical assistance and emotional support for anyone affected by breast cancer.
“All of the money raised in Scotland stays in Scotland to help us to continue to provide our free services.”
