MORE than £50,000 worth of Lottery cash will be handed out to South Ayrshire community groups and schools in the latest round of awards.
Girvan Online, Carrick Academy in Maybole and Kyle Kayak Club are among those who will receive windfalls.
Cairn Primary in Maybole will use their £2320 award to pay for materials for a school garden.
At Carrick Academy their £7750 will buy new rugby and football strips amongst other items.
Awards also went to Ayrshire District of the Scottish Bridge Union, Carrick Rural Arts Group, Ballantrae Sheepdog Association, Ayrshire Wheelchair Dance Association, Annbank and District Homing Society.
MSP Adam Ingram said: “From kayaking at the Kyle Kayak Club to sheepdog events with the Ballantrae Sheepdog Association, this round of awards encompasses a diverse range of groups which will assist in creating opportunities for the local community.”
And Gordon Brown from Carrick Academy added: “Carrick now have 12 rugby and football sides. For a school of just over 500 we are proud of this.
“Without the support from Awards for All we would not be able to provide these sides with the resources they deserve.
“The award has enabled us to put many of our pupils through coaching and refereeing courses and this has a major impact on the whole school.”
