Ayr clothing factory hosts twinning event
French enjoy breakfast at Begg’s
THE latest taste of the French Connection came to an Ayr clothing factory this week.
Begg & Co hosted visitors from across the water as part of the town twinning visit.
And the cashmere giant even laid on a breakfast buffet for the residents of St Germain-en-laye.
Their link with Ayr has been going strong since 1984.
But the twinning association were dealt a blow when South Ayrshire Council said there was no cash in their budget for the usual civic reception.
However, this year’s visit went ahead as planned and the 24 visitors from France came for a four-day tour of Ayr and Scotland.
The group visited Alloway for a flavour of Burns as well as taking in Culzean.
