Toni’s hands-on help for athletes in Prestwick

AFTER spending two years blighted by illness and injury, it’s no wonder runner Toni McIntosh has a massive interest in recovery.

The former international athlete, turned personal trainer, spent her time out studying sports massage.

Toni, 28, is now able to use her expertise to help aid the recovery of her fellow sportsmen and women.

She is already fully qualified in basic body massage and will shortly complete a diploma in sports and remedial massage therapy from the prestigious London School of Sports Massage.

Busy Toni is now back to full fitness and causing a storm at 10k runs and half marathons all over Scotland.

She recently made her comeback in style, winning the Scottish Gas 10k over a field of strong domestic and international runners.

But away from running, Toni has an impressive sports massage CV – before she has even officially completed her diploma.

Toni said: “I have a fair bit of experience of working with athletes. I am a member of the sports science team of the Ayr United Football Academy youth teams and treated Bobby Stevenson, the Ayr Seaforth hurdler, in the weeks leading up to him winning the European Masters gold medal in Slovenia.”

Toni is offering sports massage from Eden beauty salon in Prestwick on Thursdays and Saturdays.
