A TEAM of daredevils will launch themselves 700ft through the air for charity.
Four pals from Ayr will take part in a zip slide challenge at Ayr racecourse next month.
And even though one of them is terrified of heights, raising cash for leukaemia has spurred them on.
Terri Wilson, David Coughtrie, Jacqui Ferguson and Vicky McMullen will climb 100 feet before flying to the ground.
And they’ll join fellow bighearteddaredevils looking to raise money for the
Anthony Nolan Trust.
Terri, 21, said: “My boss, Tom Coughtrie, received a fundraising pack by mail and the fact I am a donor for the Anthony Nolan Trust, made it even more appealing.
“I roped in two of my colleagues and best friend Vicky – I basically put her name down, and then told her she was doing it.
“Jacqui came up with our team name, Three Ladies and A Little David, but she’s scared of heights.”
Those taking part need to pay a £10 entry fee and raise £125 sponsorship.
The minimum age is 11 – there is no upper age limit. It’s hoped the event will help the leukaemia charity raise £15,000.
All the money raised at the Zip Slide will go to help The Anthony Nolan Trust recruit more donors onto its lifesaving register offering the only chance of life to more than 16,000 leukaemia patients every year.
Regional fundraising manager Anne Hughes said: "We are really excited about the Zip Slide and delighted that the team from Creative Design in Ayr are so keen to get involved and help us raise vital funds.
“We’re confident it will be a huge success. We’ve already got almost 100 people signed up and we’re keen to reach our target of 150.
“We invite readers of the Ayrshire Post to sign up for what is sure to be a fantastic day out. All the money raised will be used to help save the lives of leukaemia patients and we’re sure that this is something locals will get behind.”
