Roxy team shine in UK pub awards
GREAT grub and super service has earned an Ayrshire pub a top award.
The Roxy in Girvan was commended for its ‘amazing standards, great service, and excellent quality of food’.
And landlord Andrew Strang insists that it’s a great achievement for his top team.
The Shine Awards are given out by Punch Taverns, the largest pub chain in the UK.
They reward excellence in their 8400 strong pub estate.
The Roxy picked up the award after beating off competition from 12 other regional finalists from across the UK.
Andrew said: “I was shocked to receive the award. It is the first award we have received for food so I am very pleased.
“It is a great achievement for the team, our customers are very proud.”
Sue Allen from Punch Taverns added: “What a fantastic event and a great opportunity to recognise these truly outstanding pubs.
“We received over 100 nominations in this region so to be crowned winners is an exceptional achievement — well done.”
