RockNess set to release £99 tickets for 2011

Rockness

WINTER may be just about to kick in and the summer music festivals seem a long way off, but the organisers of RockNess are set to release value weekend tickets for next year's festival. Organisers already have one big name act signed up but are keeping their identity under wraps for the moment.

RockNess 2010 was a resounding success with the likes of; Leftfield, Pendulum, Plan B and The Strokes rocking the banks of Loch Ness at Dores near Inverness.

The festival was applauded by the emergency services, police and the local authority for low crime levels at this year's event, when more than 30,000 fans enjoyed a fantastic weekend in a trouble free environment.

The 2011 three-day event is set to take place from June 10 to June 12 and a number of tickets have been released at a value price of £99, including camping. Festival boss Jim King said: "RockNess was amazing last year with great performances from a host of acts. We had ridiculously high levels of fun and unbelievably low levels of crime, and we want to reward our most loyal customers with this incredible offer which in terms of value is unbeatable. This is officially the ‘Year of the Ness’ so please book early as it’s going to be a great show."

£99 tickets go on sale on Thursday, October 28 on a first come, first served basis. Following this release, early bird tickets will go on sale at £135 weekend camping/non camping, which includes free coach travel in Scotland from Citylink pick up points. Students can pick up the same tickets £10 cheaper. Payment plans over three months will be available as part of the Early Bird offer.
