SOME of the best songs ever written would never have been such mammoth hits if it wasn’t for the power of television advertising putting them out to the masses.
Now one of
The Wickerman Festival is inviting artists and bands to send in their own music and the winning track will be used in an advert promoting the festival.
Festival Director Sid Ambrose is looking forward to a big response: “This is a brilliant opportunity for any un-signed act that can create an original piece of music”, he said.
Organisers of the festival, which takes place in Dumfries and
Sid continued: “Not only will their soundtrack be heard by an estimated 3 million people but they also win the chance to support some big name acts.”
Some of the big name acts to have graced the main stage in recent years are KT Tunstall, The Zutons, Utah Saints and the Human League.
