AN indie band took a plane-load of supporters to their make or break shot at the big time.
Five-piece Less Than Sober made it to the finals of the Vodafone Live and Unsigned contest in Portsmouth.
And although their bid for glory ended in defeat, the lads left an impression with their massive fanbase.
Drummer Peter Blackstock explained: “We took about 100 people down on a flight from Glasgow to Bournemouth and more came down on the bus.
“Building a fanbase is very important for any band so we’re delighted to have the kind of backing we do.
“It’s growing steadily all the time and we’re getting a good name for ourselves playing on the Glasgow circuit.
“Hopefully this competition takes us another step in the right direction to being noticed.”
The boys, who come from towns spanning Prestwick to West Kilbride, beat 10,000 other entries to make the final 20 acts at the Portsmouth final.
On offer was £20,000 to back the release of the winning act’s first single and a recording contract with a top label.
Peter, 24, added: “We’ve only been together as a band since last November, so to have made it through to the finals is a real achievement.
“We have also been nominated for a Vodafone music award due to our success so far.
“All I’ve ever wanted to be is a musician.”
