HOLLYWOOD hunk Hugh Jackman shows his animal magnetism in the action film X-Men Origins: Wolverine (12A).

It tells the story of Wolverine’s life leading up to the events of the first X-Men film.

Wolverine lives a mutant life, seeks revenge against Victor Creed, who will later become Sabertooth, for the death of his girlfriend and ends up going through the Weapon X programme.

In the romantic comedy Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (12A), Matthew McConaughey stars as a confirmed bachelor who is taken on a journey by the ghosts of his jilted girlfriends, through his past, present and future relationships.

Oscar winner Russell Crowe plays an investigative reporter out to solve the murder of a US congressman’s mistress in the political thriller State of Play (12A).

His investigation becomes compromised by his friendship with the congressman (Ben Affleck) and the demands of his ruthless editor (Helen Mirren).

Seth Rogen plays a mall security guy who is trying to catch a flasher in his bid to join the police academy and get the girl of his dreams in the comedy Observe and Report (15).

In the horror film The Uninvited (15), Anna Rydell (Emily Browning) returns home to her sister – and best friend – Alex (Arielle Kebbel) after a stint in a mental hospital but her recovery is jeopardised thanks to her cruel stepmother, aloof father, and the presence of a ghost in their home.

Jason Statham is back as Chev Chelios in Crank 2: High Voltage (18), chasing a Chinese mobster who has stolen his almost indestructible heart.

Friendless Peter Klaven Paul Rudd) goes on a series of man-dates to find a best man for his wedding in the comedy I Love You Man (15).

Vin Diesel and Paul Walker return for the latest Fast and Furious (12A) high speed thriller in a race across LA and through Mexico.
