Gaiety closure is causing chaos

FURTHER disruption is now being caused by the closure of the Gaiety Theatre, in that shows have been relocated to the Citadel Leisure Centre. In consquence, people who use this facility all year round have been put out of their accommodation.

Last Thursday week was complete chaos with folk being told at the Citadel booking office that that particular class had been changed to a venue in Whitletts, only to find on arrival that they were not expected and sent back to the Citadel. This lack of organisation is not good, we are all very willing, but many of us not so able.

The health and wellbeing classes are of great value to those who attend, and thanks to our dedicated instructors, Brenda and Jennie, who go far beyond the call of duty to arrange in their own time and without reward, threatre trips, away days, and among other things, an annual sponsored walk to raise cash for charity.

Will South Ayrshire Council please sort out this mess and return our theatre and leisure centre to the purpose for which they were built.

We can but hope.
