I AM disappointed at John Scott’s comments in the Ayrshire Post recently, following the meeting in Tarbolton.
In the article he claims I merely offered bad manners and an ill temper. I did not.
I never raised my voice and spoke only once.
I criticised the SNP/Tory administration for failing to consult the public prior to forcing closures upon them.
I pointed out that Labour brought a motion before the council late last year to introduce this, and the administration voted against it.
I criticised the current administration for lack of investment in rural areas such as Tarbolton, instead preferring to pour money into Troon, Ayr and Prestwick – for instance £3.7million to upgrade the concert hall in Troon.
I criticised Civic Pride, and I criticised the Tory and SNP councillors present for voting to close the Tarbolton Activity Centre, saving £79,000.
Mr Scott arrived late and ill-prepared. He failed to offer anything of any significance to the meeting. He claims in the article that he hasn’t a clue what is going on under the Tory administration – neither do the people of South Ayrshire if last Saturday’s demonstration is anything to go by.
Mr Scott obviously disagreed with everything I said at the meeting – the people of Tarbolton definitely did not.
