Time to take the sign down!

IT was with dismay recently that I happened across Ayr's latest crude advertising campaign. I am referring to the steak promotion at the Balgarth bar/restaurant, which proclaims in large letters that its steaks are ‘seriously well hung’.

Not only is this witless attempt at humour crude and childish, it comes from an establishment that prides itself on being a family restaurant. In fact, its proud promotion as a family venue sits right above the new crude sign!

As an Ayr resident who has enjoyed many a meal at this fine establishment, I am disappointed and depressed that it has felt the need to lower itself, like so many, to the lowest common denominator.

Come on Balgarth, get the sign down now. It’s not funny, or witty. It’s just crude and embarrassing.
