What about a council tax rebate

SO on Wednesday, February 5 the councillors you voted into office voted to close Pet's Corner, The Gaiety, Templeton House, Girvan swimming pool, Tarbolton and Dailly activity centres, Dalmilling golf course and all toilet provision in Girvan.

Of course, they will justify these closures by saying it has not put up your Council Tax, but as anyone who follows what has happened in the worldwide recession knows that in Scotland your house is now worth around 8% less than it was last year.

So if you live in a band D property band in fact you should have got a £90 rebate from the council as your property is worth less.

So it would appear that depending on who you voted for, they have failed to grasp the concept of the global downturn like everyone else has or is it the case that the Tory /SNP alliance has decided not to listen to your complaints about what they are doing, or is it the fact they know the cost of everything but the value of nothing to the community they claim to represent.

One cannot miss the fact also that Troon and Prestwick did not suffer any front line service closures so once again we have a two tier council.

So would you now vote for the councillors you voted for in 2007?
