IN addition to the Girvan Pool issues, we have: Centrum being demolished and YET ANOTHER supermarket coming to town; Civic Theatre closed; Gaiety Theatre likely to close; Citadel in an appalling condition, water always cold and changing rooms grubby; Pets Corner saved by public action.

Just exactly which leisure activities are our friends at leisure services going to Dubai to sell? How many ex-patriot Scots are likely to be attending the super-rich Dubai Golf ? Will the golf in Scotland be a surprise to those who do? Are they not already likely to be coming to Turnberry if they are attending Dubai?

In view of the Icelandic Banks debacle, is this really the best use we can make of 15K?
