FOR many years my wife and I have been looked after by 101 Medical Practice in Portland Street,Troon.
The doctor who owned the practice has now retired and sold the practice to a new doctor.
The first thing the new owner did was to change the telephone number from 01 to 0844 which means, I am told, the cost per minute is increased significantly. I may be wrong but I am led to believe that under the National Health Service Scotland’s doctors are extremely well looked after, earning over £100,000 per annum, and to increase the cost of phoning the practice by 6p+ per minute could be considered another tax burden on poorer members of the public.
It seems to be an invidious form of tax increase.
