I WAS very interested to read of June McKinstry's efforts to buy a pantomime ticket for the Gaiety production this Christmas.
My experience mirrors hers. I spent the best part of a day trying to get through to the box office on the telephone without success. I wished to purchase five adult tickets.
I eventually gave up and called the Citizens Theatre in Glasgow. The telephone was answered by a very polite young lady, who helped me find a seat which had no barrier in front – I suffer from arthritis– and offered me two seats beside mine and another two just behind. Well done to her.
The £75 cost of the tickets was therefore lost to the Gaiety.
