I READ the report about binge drinking, who are they (South Ayrshire Council) referring to in this article?
I have been in the Malt Cross several time and have not seen anybody binge drinking.
I see the odd young person worse for wear from time to time but nothing to get worried about.
Also I find it laughable when they say the youngsters are buying cheap drink from the supermarkets. Tesco has a policy of over 21 for buying alcohol. My wife and I shop there and don't see this happening at all. We also shop at Asda and Morrison's and have never seen this crowd of youngsters queuing up for their cheap drink.
I think there are too many do-gooders that would like to see us all totally miserable like themselves. I'm over 60 years of age and I think being able to get cheap drink in a few bars is a great thing and I know those sentiments are shared. Why spoil it for the likes of us just because of a few daft people? The age for buying alcohol could be raised to 21.
The majority going into the likes of the Malt Cross are law abiding people. Why spoil it for them because of spoil sports that don't even frequent these establishments?
