No longer a democracy

BIG brother is alive and well and living in Ayr.

Sixty odd years ago I was born into a democracy where everyone had the right to their own lives and privacy.

These days I’m forced to advertise not only my name, my age and my address to all and sundry. Why? Because in my own best interest the powers that be have taken away my right to privacy and free will by making it illegal not to register to vote.

If I wanted to vote I would have filled in the forms and registered my intent to conform.

Once this information is processed I will have given away my independence, my safety and my peace of mind.

Any schoolboy hacker will be able to find and use my information.

Is this a democracy? I think not.
