Missing Saltire must return

I WAS in Ayr High Street on Monday watching the Royal Highland Fusiliers marching down Ayr High Street.

A number of people approached me to complain about the Saltire not being up on the Wallace Tower, and saying it has not been on the Wallace Tower for some time.

It was always the policy of the council that the Saltire was to be on the Wallace Tower at all times and not just St Andrew’s Day or New Year.

A special day in Ayr on Monday and with the Burns Homecoming only two months away I hope the council get back to the policy and getting the Saltire back permanently on the Wallace Tower.
