IN reply to Frank Weller’s attack on Lorna Anderson’s previous letter raising concerns over a packet of cigarettes being displayed as a prize on an amusement park slot machine.
I have to ask Mr Weller “did you bother to actually read Mrs Anderson’s letter”? At no point did the letter dismiss anybody for smoking.
The concern which Mrs Anderson was trying to bring to our attention was the fact that the pack of 20 was displayed as a prize in a machine which could be accessed by children under the legal age required to purchase cigarettes.
A child cannot simply go into a store and buy a pack of 20, yet the amusement park find it acceptable for kids to win a pack.
So Mr Weller I agree with Mrs Andersons concern and would never encourage a child to take up smoking nor make it easy for them to win a pack.
Maybe in future you should take care to read the facts before voicing your inappropriate opinions. I can only assume you had smoke in your eyes.
