Shock at restaurant

ON Thursday, October 2 at approximately 1.20pm I witnessed an outrageous case of disability discrimination by staff at a restaurant.

A middle aged woman, accompanied by her son, entered and asked for a table. She was asked if she had booked and when she replied "no" she was told that the restaurant was fully booked, despite the fact that there were at least four vacant tables.

The woman and her son then left. Moments later another customer entered and was immediately shown to a table.

That customer, of course, did not have Downs Syndrome.

The management and staff of this restaurant should hang their heads in shame.
