Praise for roadworks

I’M usually the first to complain about badly managed roadworks.

But for a change I’d like to say thanks to the person responsible for the recent works at Turnberry.

This was a pretty big resurfacing job which took more than a week to complete.

I’d expected to be faced with lengthy delays both to and from work every day as a result.

So you can imagine my surprise when the cones were cleared every single night and repositioned the following morning in time for work to begin.

Ramps and raised manholes were clearly marked so motorists could avoid a bumpy ride.

This goes to show how roadworks can be managed with road users in mind.

It’s just a pity that the current works south of Minishant aren’t managed in a similar way where one carriageway has been closed for well over a fortnight while new kerb stones are installed. Surely these roadworks should be managed in a similar fashion.
