MAY I make a plea for the ‘grey brigade’ to leave the disabled seats on buses to and from Ayr for the truly disabled.
I am 62 years old and I travel with mobility scooter and carer.
I can get on and off a bus with a stick, but increasingly find the few seats marked for disabled are taken by the grey brigade who do not move.
I am afraid in this case their manners in comparison to young ones are deplorable. It is the same when boarding buses or in shops, they have to go first. Do I need a sign round my neck?
The buses, although fitted with lowering steps, have only used this twice, usually because they do not stop at designated bus stops or are in such a hurry. So much for equal rights for the disabled.
