AYR are licking their wounds after a four wicket defeat away to Dumfries who returned to the top of the CSL Western Premier Division.
Ayr won the toss and batted first posting a respectable 215 as they were bowled out in the last over of their innings with pro Craig Thyssen top scoring with 86.
He was given excellent support by Callum McLaughlin (37) as the pair put on 111 before both were run out.
In reply, the Dumfries innings was heldtogether by opening batsman Chris Bellwood whose 92 not out helped see the home team home at 216-6 with six balls to spare.
The Cambusdoon XI returned to winning ways as they beat Nunholm by 70 runs. The youthful home team batted first and scored 205 with skipper Niall McCrossin leading the way with 80.
The bowlers then completed the victory by bowling out the visitors for 135 with Jake Craig top performer with 4-27.
Another week of fine weather allowed the juniors to carry on their good run of victories. The U11s beat Glasgow Accies by 21 runs while the U15s beat Clydesdale by 42 runs.
Ayr batted first and were bowled out for 120 with Muhammed Azeen (40) and Ivan Craig (36) top scoring. They then bowled out their hosts for 78 with Adam Gordon taking three wickets.
The U18 beat a Irvine/Kilmarnock select by 10 wickets after restricting them to 56-8.
This weekend sees Local Life Ayr at home to Stirling County while the Cambusdoon XI are away to Williamfield.
MGM Prestwick have three crunch home games against Renfrew, Kelburne and Ferguslie to finish their season.
But a weekend stag do for Alex Bonner followed by his wedding a week later could leave them short of bodies.
Prestwick had no answer to South African pro Rushdi Jappie as they lost by 50 runs to Stenhousemuir at The Tryst. The 26-year-old hit an unbeaten 118 as Stenny reached 226-8 off their 50 overs.
In reply, Prestwick were bowled for 176 after 47.3 overs. Top scores came from Calum Rodger (80) and Phil Stafford (36).
The 2nd X1 lost at home to The Tryst with Mikey Miller scoring 34 of their 127 total. The Tryst got the runs for seven wickets after 42 overs.
The under 15s beat West away with Miller scoring 49 not out. The under 11s beat Kilmarnock away. Calan Turner hit 20 not out while there were three wickets each for Fletcher Rao and Scott Clelland.
A junior single wicket competition was held on Sunday. The under 15 trophy went to James Pettigrew who beat Gregor Cairns by one run in the final. Fletcher Rao beat Calan Turner in the under 11 final.
The under 13s lost away to West on Monday after being dismissed for 72. James Miller hit 18 and took two wickets but West won with only two wickets down.
Prestwick are gearing up for the super eights tournament on Sunday, August 26 when five teams will compete.
