COYLE WATER FISHERY (Coylton): good weather has bought out the fishermen with many reporting good bags.
Bait pond: Mr Cant from Stewarton caught nine fish weighing 24 lb, S Duffy from Ayr five weighing 11.25 lb, Mr Brady from Catrine five weighing 9.9 lb, Mr Main from Kilmarnock five weighing 9.25 lb, M. Robertson from Kilmarnock four weighing 8.6 lb, Master McKeown from Prestwick four weighing 8.01 lb, B. Robertson from Kilmarnock four weighing 7.5 lb, Mrs E. Boyle from Ayr three weighing 7.5 lb, Andy from Ayr three weighing 6.25 lb.
Fly pond: V. Wilson from Drongan caught 11 fish using a white moth, Mr McKean from Irvine nine using a diawa bach, Mr McBlane from Irvine six using various dry flies, C. Campbell from Tarbolton four using a yellow dancer, Mr Blakey from Ayr two using a black hopper, Cammy from Falkirk two using a yellow dancer, B. Testo from Drongan two using a pink dancer, Mr Wilson from Drongan two using a white moth.
RAITH RESERVOIR (Prestwick): the change in the weather brought out a few members and most enjoyed the settings and the rays.
Catches: Eric Greenwood four for 9½lbs one on the bubble and fly and three on power bait, son Stewart Greenwood four for 8¼lbs spinning. Thomas Dunstan two rainbow and one blue for 7¾lbs on power bait in the deeper water off Swan Isle, Jim Phillips two for 3lbs on power bait in the deeper water and one floating power bait just over the weed, T. Drummond one for 2lbs on power bait, Andrew Anderson one rainbow on the floating worm for 3lbs in the Bottom Bay, W. Ure one rainbow for 1¾lbs, T. Collins one for 1¾lbs on power bait again in the deeper water.
A lot of fish were lost and most caught were just hooked. All agree takes were very soft. The founder members, over 60s and junior competition, is on Saturday, August 4.
BURNS TROUT FISHERY (Tarbolton): the fishery is holding the Mima Harvey open fly and the Burns Trout Fishery open bait competitions on Sunday, August 12 from 8am until 4pm.
Cost £15, both competitions will be four fish limit, heaviest bags wins, trophies for first in both. Bookings to 07527 405715 or got to Burns Trout Fishery on Facebook.
The J J L Angling Club visited with heaviest bag going to A Murray with five fish for 11lb 2oz, heaviest went to Campbell Jackson 2lb 8oz, 40 fish were caught in total.
The Atlantic Angling Club also visited. At the weigh in, heaviest bag on the fly was B Reilly four for 9lb 6oz, heaviest bag on the bait was A Boyle four for 8lb 12oz, first in the juniors was J Roylles three for 8lb 12oz. A total of 43 fish were caught.

SPRINGWATER FISHERY (Dalrymple): fly fishing well. Top catch goes to Mark Armstrong from Dundee with nine on c/r, John Barclay four for 9lbs 6oz and released another four. Small nymphs best fly. Bait continues to fish well. The Allardyce family from Airdrie had 11 fish between the three of them for 23lbs 3oz. Best bait was worm.
Coarse loch fishing great with some big catches of skimmer and bream. Scouse had over 40 lbs of silvers. Best bait was pellet and corn.
BROOMHILL FLY & COARSE FISHERY (Patna/Rankinston B730): fly pond: good catches to nymphs, yellow owl, buzzers and blobs.

Coarse pond: no match results as Broomhill AC were at Mallory Park for a four day festival. Craig Henderson took first place, Tommy Mitchell (miracle baits) in second and Davie Mitchell in third.
Broomhill’s top junior, Kaylum Ferguson, had a great three hour session from peg 20 with 15 small carp, two bream over 5lb and his personal best record a common carp of 7lb 6oz.
