COYLE WATER FISHERY (Coylton): the fishing has been very good with most anglers catching their bags. Beginning to get on top of the weed in the fly pond with most of it being cleared, so all areas can be fished without much trouble.
Bait pond: J. Miller from Ayr caught seven fish weighing 14.5 lb, D. Ferguson from New Cumnock five fish weighing 10.75 lb, J. Holland from Saudi Arabia five fish weighing 12.5 lb, Mr Brown from Crosshouse two fish weighing 5.5 lb, Mr Copeland from Ayr two fish weighing 5.2 lb, W. Doak from Clydebank two fish weighing 3.5 lb, six-year-old Abi Miller from Troon caught her very first rainbow trout weighing 1.85 lb.
Fly pond: Mr Clark from Ayr caught 16 fish over two visits using a mixture of dry flies, T. Partridge from Troon one fish weighing 2.5 lb. and released five others using a hawthorn fly, J. Alerdyce from Port Patrick 12 fish using a red ant, Mr Shaw from Paisley nine fish using a mixture of dry flies, J. Auston from Auchinleck five fish using dry flies, Mr Graham from Ayr five fish using a pheasant tail nymph, I. Muncie from Dreghorn five fish using various nymphs, R. Blair from Ayr six fish over three visits using a pheasant tail nymph, M. Denton from Ayr six fish over three visits using an okee dokee.
BURNS TROUT FISHERY (Tarbolton): the fishery was visited by the Provincial Grand Lodge Ayrshire who held the Auld Codgers competition.
On the fly pond, first was Bill Boe (No 290) with five fish for 11lb 10oz while first on the bait pond was Tam Stewart (no 22) with two fish for 2lb 4oz.
Porters Bar also visited and at their weigh in heaviest bag went to S Frew with four fish for 8lb. Dailly Angling Club also visited and at their weigh in heaviest bag went to R Galloway with four fish for 9lb 5oz.

RAITH RESERVOIR (Prestwick): the back to winter change of last week kept all away but did not deter J. Lothian another six, and Stewarton’s T. Wilson with two.
Saturday’s John Baillie Memorial Trophy was better attended and among those to “Thole the winter's sleety dribble, an' cranreuch cauld” were the following.
First was Tom (I always fish the fly) Collins four blue on power bait for 6lbs 15oz, runner-up was Neil McGinn three blue for 5lbs 13oz on power bait, J. Lothian another four blue for 5lbs 8oz on power bait, Jim Tomlinson three rainbow on power bait for 5lbs 1oz, B. Spearman three blue for 4lbs 14oz, John Anderson two for 2lbs 14oz on power bait and floating worm, Jim Gillespie one blue for 1lbs 15oz on power bait and Bernie another blue for 1lbs 7oz.
The club has arranged a work party for Sunday, July 15 from 9am until midday. A good turnout would be appreciated.
DALVENNAN FISHERY: Jock Hardie one for 2¾lbs, Peter Bell four for 12¼lbs, Craig Rae two for 5¾lbs, Johnny Davidson one for 3½lbs, Jamie Kane two for 4¾lbs, Jim Kane one for 2¼lbs, Chris Scott eight for 19¼lbs, C. McArthur three for 11½lbs, Bob Foster one for 3½lbs, Jeff Howie two for 5¼lbs, Louis Brown one for 2½lbs.
Catch and release: Sam Kung released seven, Lee Kung one, Gill Knox two, Sean Freal two, Gordon Bingham one, Ally Hill one, Bill Dollin two, Rab Millar one, David Cole two (one at 8¾lbs), Eric Brown two, Norman Brown four (one at 7lbs), Wullie Brown jnr two, Wullie Brown snr one, Tam Anderson six, Jock Hardie three, Tam Knox one, Bob Foster two, Johnny Davidson three, Peter Bell two, Craig Rae one at 7½lbs.
SPRINGWATER FISHERY (Dalrymple): the fishery is fishing great at the moment. Top catch goes to Mark Jones from Dundee who released 14 rainbows and one brownie best about 4lbs. John Allerdyce released nine while Jim Malcolm had four for 11lbs 1oz.
Bait fishing also good. William Ross, Margaret Ross and Chris Archibald had eight fish for 18lbs 8oz, Thomas Donnelly, Arron McFadden and Rory McFadden had six.
Biggest went to Arron at 3lbs 2oz, Mason Salmon three fish, top catch goes to Alana (7) with five fish biggest 3lbs 3oz also Paul McCafferty snr and jnr six fish biggest 2lbs 7oz. Best bait worm and power bait.
Coarse loch fishing great. Scouse from Drongan had 29 skimmer breem and a good catch of roach and rudd. Best weight was well over 40 lbs caught on the pole. Colin from Kilmarnock had 26 skimmer bream and a common carp of 9lbs. Young Douglas Neil had a nice common of 7lbs 8oz, Davie Duncan had another good day with tench carp and skimmers.
Springwater’s thoughts go to the family of Matt Crossan who sadly passed away. Matt was a great fly fisherman and great friend to the fishery. RIP auld pal.
BROOMHILL FLY & COARSE FISHERY (Patna/Rankinston B730): fly pond: David Duncan 18 c/r (two visits) Ally Hagarty 23 c/r (two visits) Dave Robertson seven c/r, Willie McKean six c/r, Jordan four c/r, T.Hopkins 11 c/r, Danny Szulc 20 c/r, John Herbiston seven c/r, D. Coarse pond: the fish for 2 k qualifier was won by Jim Anderson with 17 lbs 8 ozs. Second was Matt Baxter with 10 lbs 14 ozs, third was Bob Goodwin who could have won the match but lost five large carp at the net.
