AYR ANGLING CLUB: once again, the river level has remained high. There has been a report of a nice 18lb fresh run cock salmon which was taken at the Craigie pool. The fish was verified at Gamesport.
The junior competition due to be held on Sunday, July 1 at Snipe Loch was postponed due to flooding. Another date will be set and all junior members will be informed.
Shankston adult fly competition was fished last Saturday and was won by David Morrison with three fish for 4.81 kilos. Second was Jimmy Hamilton with one fish for 1.79 kilos.
Total catch for Snipe Loch for the past week was 27 fish. One was a nice brown trout of 4lbs caught by J White.

COYLE WATER FISHERY (Coylton): fishing is much improved this week with the better weather coming in.

SPRINGWATER FISHERY: we are having a problem with our bait loch at the moment which we are trying our best to sort.
In the meantime, we have made available part of the fly loch for bait fishing.
The anglers who have fished bait on the fly have been doing well. Sharon Tait caught her first fish ever and not long after got another one, both the same weight at 2lbs 7oz. Another lady angler had four fish for over 9lbs. Best bait is worm.
Fly fishing going well. John Allardyce from Airdrie 11 fish c/r. Brian, from Airdrie, 10 c/r, Gary Shimmons released a nice rainbow of over 6lbs on dry fly.
Coarse loch fishing well. Davie Duncan had a tench of 7lbs and a carp of 8lbs plus a good net of silvers. Bait was corn and prawn, Dave Morris three carp between 5 and 8 lbs.
Some anglers have been keeping count of how many fish on session they have been catching with one almost getting 200, mostly rudd, roach and perch plus some good skimmer bream.

BROOMHILL FLY & COARSE FISHERY (Patna/Rankinston B730): fly pond continues to fish very well with good bags to buzzers, yellow owl, black gnats and other dries.

Fish 4 2 k qualifier this Saturday, coarse pond will be closed to the public until 6pm.
