COYLE WATER FISHERY (Coylton): fishing has been good with many fish rising to dry flies and some good bags have been recorded.
Bait pond: Mr Smith from Ayr: four fish weighing 7.5 lb, Mr McIllroy from Prestwick: four weighing 7.4 lb; young Michael from Patna: four weighing 6.8 lb; master McGuire from Ayr: two weighing 3.9 lb; Mr Stevenson: a nice rainbow trout of 2.5 lb.
Fly pond: Mr Greyson from Ayr: five using various buzzers; Ian Kilpatrick from Stewarton: four using dry flies; Davie Campbell from Failford: three using an orange blob; Mr Edgar from Ayr: three using a black pheasant tail nymph; T. Muir from East Kilbride: three using CDC dry fly; Hugh Munro from Mossblown: two using a caldy; M. Denton from Ayr: eight over two visits using a yellow dancer and dry flies; W.McCullagh from Prestwick: lovely rainbow trout weighing 4.1 lb.
AYR ANGLING CLUB: fly fishing on the river slow due to cold weather although fish are being taken on silver and gold no.2 mepps. All lochs fishing well. Green powerbait seems to be the favoured bait with the exception of Braden where worms and various mepps are favourite.
Club members are regularly achieving bag limits on Snipe Loch for their three times a week visits. Visiting anglers are also doing well with most achieving bag limits.
To date there is no further information for the start of renovation work at Snipe Loch but it is hoped it will commence soon. Details about all club fishings from secretary Bill Ritchie on 01292 880669.
BURNS TROUT FISHERY (Tarbolton): the fishery is holding an open fly competition on Sunday, May 20 from 8am until 4pm. Cost £15, four fish limit, heaviest bag wins. Trophies for first three. Bookings to 07527 405715 or go to Burns page on Facebook.

SPRINGWATER FISHERY (Dalrymple): fly loch fishing really well. Top catch goes to Cameron Frew from Annbank who on a four hour two fish c/r ticket had two fish for 6lbs 5oz and released another 17 great fish.
Malcolm Foster from Maybole released nine, Capper from Coylton released six plus too many more catches to mention.
Bait loch also fishing well. Five-year-old Mason Salmon beat his big sister with three fish for 6lbs 5oz to Brogen’s one fish for 2lbs 10oz. Miller Waugh (11) from Dalmellington caught the biggest fish in the bait loch this week with a fish of 3lbs 4oz.
Coarse fishing well. Big carp and plenty of skimmers and roach getting caught. Entries for the bait competition on Sunday, June 3, to 01292 560343.
BROOMHILL FISHERY (Patna/Rankinston off B730): Fly pond fishing extremely well although weather still cold. Some exellent catches have been recorded.
