MEET the calendar girls who are bidding to make a date for charity.
A group of Ayr girls, calling themselves Sweethearts for Soldiers, will pose as pin-ups from the 40s and 50s.
Their faces will go on a 16 month calendar which will raise money for Help for Heroes.
And they aim to follow that by releasing a charity single which is currently under wraps.
The girls hope to raise a minimum of £5000 and are looking for sponsors to help them on their way.
Behind the bold plan is singer and dancer Lynsey Brown, from Ayr.
Lynsey, 25, said: “All of us know at least one person who has been in Iraq.
“That gave us the idea of doing something different to raise awareness and money for our armed forces.
“We want to do our bit for a very good cause.”
The girls are holding a calendar launch night in the Carlton Hotel, Prestwick, on May 11.
And they hope to sell 500 calendars at £10 each.
Among those joining Lynsey in the venture is Kayleigh McDermid, whose uncle was injured in Iraq.
Others include Shannen Baillie, Adele Nicol, Catherine Ingram, Nicci Vance, Nicole Fitsimmons, Ashleigh McMurdo, Michaela Higgins, Laura Frizzell and Tammi Shearer.
A photographer and printing company are donating their services free of charge.
