COYLE WATER FISHERY (Coylton): spring has arrived and so have the fishermen. The fish seem to know as well with some bigger than normal bags being recorded.
Bait pond: Mr Paterson from Ayr caught two fish weighing 4.8 lb, Stewart Jones from Ayr caught three weighing 5.9 lb on his first attempt at fishing, Bob Brown from Ochiltree caught four weighing 9.3 lb, Mr McDonald from Prestwick caught three weighing 5.4 lb.
Fly pond: N Miller from Kilmarnock caught 11 fish using various coloured rabbits, J. Todd from Kilmarnock caught 10 using various flies, I. Northorpe from Kilmarnock caught nine using various flies, T. Jarvie from Drongan caught seven using a nomad, G. Donnelly from Kilmarnock caught seven using blobs, D. Dutch from Drongan caught five using a black nymph, W. McKeen from Drongan caught five using a black nymph, B. McGartland from Kilmarnock caught four using various bugs, I. Greenwood from Liverpool caught four using a red headed cormorant, T.Brown from Prestwick caught four using a yellow dancer.
RAITH RESERVOIR (Prestwick): last permit renewal date is Friday, March 10 in the Glenburn Miners’ Club from 7-9pm. Raffle donations would be appreciated as all proceeds are put to good use.
There are vacancies for new members. Just bring along an application form or a letter of introduction.
Working out at 24p a day, fishing for good quality fish, by any legal method, nine major competitions, plenty of prizes and more throughout the season, and all within the environs of a friendly local non-profit making club.
The start of season stocking is scheduled for 10am on Sunday, March 11. As the fields are not exactly favourable, the club needs as many members as possible to lend a hand.
The season starts at 8am on Thursday,March 15. Could all catch returns please be submitted. Clubs and bus parties are welcome but are asked to contact in advance.

Broomhill coarse pond work progressing well thanks to the efforts by Tommy, Derek and the boys. First stockiing was introduced on Tuesday, February 28.
