Angling reports: November 4

COYLE WATER FISHERY (Coylton): the colder weather has meant the fish are looking for bigger food to fatten them for the winter so large lures are coming into use at the moment, with fish coming to rabbits and big fritzes.

Bait pond: A. Davidson from Irvine caught his first ever rainbow trout weighing 2.38 lb, Mr Curtis and Mr Gribben from Mossblown caught three fish weighing 6.25 lb, A. Davis from Glasgow caught three weighing 5.8 lb, A. McCoist from Hamilton caught three weighing 5.7 lb.

Fly pond: S. McTear from Coylton caught five fish over two visits using various flies, F. Cuthbert from Coylton caught 12 fish using various buzzers, J. Tomlinson caught nine using various lures, Mr. McLuckie from Ayr caught five using a rabbit, M. Denton caught eight over two visits using a natural coloured rabbit, P. Black from Cumnock caught two weighing 4.5 lb, H. Thom from Cumnock caught two weighing 5.25 lb.

BURNS TROUT FISHERY (Tarbolton): fly pond: I Skilling four for 9lb 14oz, G Murray four for 8lb 12oz, F Lawson four for 8lb 2oz, Mr Leggat one for 2lb, H Diamond two for 4lb, T McFarlane two for 4lb 10oz, B Jones two for 4lb 1oz, J Campbell two for 3lb 10oz.

Bait pond: Kari Dunlop four for 9lb 8oz (one at 3lb 12oz), J Davis two for 7lb 10oz, J Patterson nine for 18lb 13oz, B C Convery six for 10lb, Kim Dunnachie four for 7lb 4oz, D Hannah four for 7lb 4oz, F Lawson four for 8lb 2oz, K Leckie three for 6lb 8oz, E Convery three for 6lb 14oz, A Bunten three for 5lb 8oz, M Bunten three for 5lb 7oz, C Davis two for 3lb 10oz, R Bell two for 4lb 14oz.

RAITH RESERVOIR (Prestwick): trophy holders need to return them as soon as possible to Pets Aquarium, Main Street, Prestwick so they are ready for the prizegiving on Friday, November 11. It is now imperative these trophies are returned in order that they are engraved in time.

The venue is The Glenburn Miners Club at 8pm when a good attendance would be appreciated as a lot of effort has been put into it and a free buffet is being laid on.

Any donations for the raffle or help with the buffet would also be appreciated as all proceeds are put to good use.

SPRINGWATER FISHERY (Dalrymple): the Park Bar had a club outing. Top bag went to G. Lang with four fish for 9lbs 6oz, mixed between the fly and the bait. Out of the 23 anglers, only two didn't catch.

Fly pond is fishing well. One angler, over two short catch and release sessions, released 15 fish. Small lures retrieved fast doing well. Mr Wilson from Grangemouth released eight on a black and green lure.

Bait pond fishing extremely well. Tam Knox from Dalrymple and his dad caught their limit of fish very early so bought another ticket. Mr McGee had three fish for 7lbs 7oz, M Wylie fiour fish for 8lbs 9oz, young G Wylie jnr three fish for 6lbs 10oz. Best bait was power bait.
