THE Galloway Hills Rally, which is the traditional end of year forest rally, takes place in the countryside around Castle Douglas on Sunday, October 30.
This year's event will have the added attraction of a father and son (Gordon and David Alexander) competing against each other for the first time in a forest.
Gordon is an experienced competitor and is also the current chairman of East Ayrshire Car Club. David, who is also on the club committee, will be competing in his first forest event and will have the help of novice co-driver, Jock Frew, to guide him through the woods.
Both crews will be in similar Vauxhall Nova rally cars. Gordon has been busy rebuilding his gearbox after his last outing while David, a student from Cumnock, has been preparing the club president's car for the rally.
Both drivers are using the same service crew so they will be able to keep in touch with each other’s performance throughout the day.
