BURNS TROUT FISHERY (Tarbolton): A total of 109 fish were caught at the autumn open pairs competition.

Results: 1. Allan Taylor and Robert McFarlane with eight for 18lb 15oz (fly); 2. Mr King and Mr Millar with eight for 17lb 2oz (bait); 3. Jack Bradley and Rab Purdie with eight for 16lb 12oz (fly/bait).

COYLE WATER FISHERY (Coylton): Fairfield Angling Club had a great day with some fishing the bait pond and the rest on the fly.

The bait boys caught 20 fish between them for a combined weight of 32.3 lb while the fly boys caught 12 fish weighing 25.4 lb.

Baiy pond: Mr Stevenson from Dalmellington caught two fish weighing 4.8 lb, Lauret from Prestwick two fish weighing 3.5 lb, Mr Gaughey from Glasgow six fish weighing 11.8 lb, A. Skee caught a nice rainbow trout weighing 1.6 lb.

Fly pond: Mr Fedcar from Ayr caught 10 fish using a pink buzzer, Mr Greyson from Ayr six fish using various buzzers, D. McFarlane from Bellshill six fish using buzzers, F. Kerr from Ayr seven fish using various flies, D. Duncan jnr from Drongan 10 fish using nomads and caldy over two visits, M. Britton from Hollybush House 16 fish using various dry flies over three visits, Alison Wilson from Coylton two fish using various lures, Scott McAllister from Cumnock six fish using a cats whisker, Mr Watson from Irvine six fish using a cats whisker, eight-year-old Rainbow Dougie caught his first fish on the fly weighing 4.75lb using a hares ear nymph.

SPRINGWATER FISHERY (Dalrymple): the coarse pond D&T Secuirity grab a grand match was won by Ewan Weed with a catch of 18lb 5oz. Second was Craig Henderson with 12lb 9oz while third was Mike Weed with 11lb.

Thanks to Tommy Mitchell for sponsoring and running a great match. It was great to see a Springwater Coarse Angling Club member win £1000.

Fly pond: top catch was Ryan from Newcastle who had four fish for 10lb 4oz and released another four. Best fly was green and black fritz.

Bait pond: best catch was Mr Young with five fish for 10lb 10oz. Tigger and friends from Irvine all got their two fish limits. Best bait was worms.
