SPRINGWATER FISHERY (Dalrymple): the Pollok Angling Club had a bait and fly competition when winner was R. Brown who landed four fish for 8lbs14oz. He then went on to catch and release.

The bait winner was P. Smith with five fish for 11lbs12 oz. Another catch on the bait pond was old Alex with two fish for 6lbs and eight-year-old Luke Tocher from Govan with two fish for 4lbs 4oz.

On the coarse pond fishing, Dave Paxton had two carp of 10lbs and 13lbs. Another angler had 14 small carp for 27lbs. Plenty of roach and skimmers are getting caught.

BURNS TROUT FISHERY (Tarbolton): on Sunday, October 16 the fishery is holding an open pairs competition (fly or bait). It will run from 8am until 4pm and will cost £30 per pair (£15 each).

COYLE WATER FISHERY (Coylton): the fishery has been quiet because of the adverse weather but the diehard anglers have been very well rewarded with plenty of good hard fighting fish.

Bait pond: Mr Stonehouse from Hartlepool caught four fish weighing 8.1 lb, Mr Stevenson from Ayr caught two fish weighing 5.3 lb, John Peterson from Monkton caught a nice rainbow trout weighing 1.8 lb, Mr Smith caught four fish weighing 7.8 lb.

Fly pond: D. Galloway from Prestwick caught eight fish using a yellow blob, Jim from Irvine caught eight fish using a pink blob, Mr McKelvie jnr. from Ayr caught eight fish using a black and green montana, J. Graham from Ayr caught seven fish using a yellow dancer, T. Jarvie from Drongan caught nine fish using various flies, F. Kerr from Ayr caught three fish using dry flies, I. Lawrie from Coylton caught nine fish using an olive cdc, J. McMillan from Monkton caught two fish weighing 4.5 lb. and released five others.
