BURNS TROUT FISHERY (Tarbolton): the fishery is holding an open pairs competition (fly or bait) on Sunday, September 11 from 8am to 4pm. Four fish limit each angler, cost £15 per angler (£30 a pair), heaviest team bag wins, trophies for first three. Bookings to 07527 405715.
Fly pond: Tam Boyle four for 9lb 4oz, A Cuthbert two for 4lb 9oz, Jim Roberts two for 4lb 13oz, B Bell one for 2lb 5oz, Ian Skilling four for 8lb, H Taylor two for 3lb 9oz.

BROOMHILL FISHERY (Patna/Rankinston B730): fly pond fishing fairly well, with some good catches being recorded, also some nice brownies.

Some anglers having some good sport with float tubes on mid-week evenings: R.McFarlane seven c/r, Don Wallace three c/r. Small dry flies are being favoured, also various.
Bait pond: continuing to fish very well, regulars Hugh Lees and Douglas Wark catching some nice fish, Hugh three fish kept 9lb 2oz, Douglas three kept 7lb 4oz, Bert Stevenson four kept 7lb 10oz, H. McGill three kept 7lb 1oz, I. McMaster four kept 9lb 2oz. Power bait and maggots preferred.
COYLE WATER FISHERY (Coylton): cooler weather has improved the fishing with lots of hard fighting fish taking a large variety of flies.
Bait pond: Alan Reid from Troon two fish weighing 4 lb, W.Neville junior caught his first fish weighing 2.1 lb, M. Hills from Prestwick three weighing 7.1 lb, Mr. Skee from Ayr two weighing 3.3 lb, Mr Murray from Coylton two weighing 4 lb, Mr Devlin from Ayr two weighing 4.1 lb, Mr Colquhoun from Ayr two weighing 3.6 lb.
Fly pond: I. Muncie from Dreghorn caught and released 17 fish over three visits, Hugh Mitchell from Port Lethen caught 11 fish using a black shipmans, Coodgie Reid from Ayr caught 23 over two visits using various buzzers, Andy Reid from Ayr caught 16 fish over two visits using dry flies, B. McGartland from Kilmarnock caught 10 using small dry flies, S. Alexander from Ayr caught four using an olive cdc, A. Easton from Ayr caught 14 using various rabbits, W. Neville from Prestwick caught five using a yellow blob, B. Yeo from Ayr caught four using a blob, E. Dawson from Skares caught four using various buzzers, J. Preist from Kilmarnock caught five using a black hopper, Harry Barclay from Kilmarnock caught five using dry flies.
