BURNS TROUT FISHERY (Tarbolton): the fishery was visited by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Ayrshire who held their annual Old Codgers competition with a total of 44 fish caught.
Winner of the fly section was Bill Bow (290) with five fish for 11lb 4oz while the bait section went to Tam Stewart (22) with four fish for 7lb 15oz. Heaviest fish at 3lb 2oz went to Stewart Hamilton (126).
The fishery was also visited by the Good Year Angling Club who caught 15 fish between them.
Fly pond: Mr Diamond four for 10lb 5oz (one at 4lb 13oz), Stevie Brennan four for 10lb 9oz, Mr Cheetam four, J Gregg two for 4lb 4oz, Mr Hunter two for 3lb 6oz, F Auld one for 2lb 7oz, D Hamilton two for 5lb 12oz, C Campbell three for 6lb 3oz, Frazer Galloway two for 4lb 7oz.
Bait pond: five-year-old Kyle one for 1lb 8oz, seven-year-old Cameron, one for 1lb 8oz, Ian Crosbie four for 7lb 6oz, Mr Thomson four for 8lb 2oz, J Hall four for 7lb 6oz, W Weir one for 2lb 9oz, J Blyth one for 2lb, G Barr one for 1lb 11oz, W Cowan three for 5lb 13oz, R Graham one for 2lb, D Frazer three for 5lb 14oz, G Todman four for 7lb, A Todman two for 3lb 7oz, J Milwain two for 5lb 1oz.
COYLE WATER FISHERY (Coylton): Men’s mental health group spent the morning at the fishery and caught seven fish on the bait pond for a combined weight of 15½ lbs.
Fly pond: J. Walker from Ayr caught and released two fish using an orange fritz, M McCurdie from Ayr caught and released three using an orange blob, Mrs Wilson from Coylton caught her first fish on the fly using an orange fritz and has been back and caught more fish since.
A Reid caught and released three fish using a black and silver lure, Mr Murdoch from Drongan caught and released seven fish using buzzers and zonkers.
Coogie Reid from Ayr caught eight fish using various buzzers. Mr Quinn from Ayr caught three fish using buzzers, Jim McGhee caught his first fish for years using a white dry fly.
Bait pond: young George Glasgow came fishing with his dad and papa and beat them both with three fish for 6½ lbs. Master McClure from Stewarton had a good afternoon catching four fish for 6.8 lb.
Mr Taylor caught three fish weighing 7½ lbs using power bait, C. Scott from Coylton caught four fish weighing 7.6 lbs, Rees McGhee caught a fish weighing 2 lbs, I McHarg from Dalrymple caught one fish weighing 2.6 lbs.
RAITH RESERVOIR (Prestwick): an interesting week with some good returns on various methods.
Jock Patterson eight rainbows on the running worm, Robert Baillie six rainbows on power bait, well done Craig Dempsey day permit four rainbows on a flying ‘C’, Ross Sargent four rainbows on green power bait, John Balfour four rainbows for 8 lbs on the running worm, W. Ure three rainbows for 5½ lbs on the floating worm, D. Kelly three rainbows, C. Baillie two rainbow on power bait, G. Lewis one rainbow for 1½ on power bait, J. Curry one rainbow, Davie Crone one rainbow.
Andy Faichney bagged a tagged rainbow on the running worn and kindly donated monies back to the club.
The club thank the seven men who turned up for Sunday’s work party and the magnificent job they did.
ANNBANK ANGLING CLUB: all members are invited to a special general meeting in the clubhouse on Sunday, July 17, at 11am.
Annbank Fishery: loch is fishing well and fully stocked. Buzzers, nymphs and dry flies all producing results.
After a lot of hard work the loch is now free of weed, and lures can be fished well in the open water. Best rises in the evening, although fish are feeding sporadically throughout the day.

SPRINGWATER FISHERY (Dalrymple): fly pond still fishing well. Ian Crossan released 10 on a black cat’s whisker while Steven Gracie and Frank released nine between them on short evening session, most caught on drys.
Bait pond still a bit hard. Best catch came from John Allardyce with four fish for 9lbs 7oz, best bait green power bait.
Coarse pond fishing well with good carp. Dave Morris had five, biggest at 11lbs 6oz. Plenty of silver fish getting caught best bait maggot.
Springwater holds another bait competition on Sunday, July 31. Prices for heaviest catch, senior heaviest catch, junior and heaviest fish. Entry is £20 for five fish. Bookings to 01292 560343.
