BURNS TROUT FISHERY (Tarbolton): the fishery is holding an open junior (under 16) competition (fly or bait) on Sunday, July 3 from 9am to 4pm.
It will be a four fish limit, heaviest bag wins with trophies for first three. Cost is £15. Bookings to 07527 405715.
Tarbolton and Failford AC held a two fish evening competition. Winner was Craig McFarlane with two fish for 4lb 14oz.

RAITH RESERVOIR (Prestwick): the recent spate of unpredictable weather hasn’t affected the fishing as returns will testify.

Day ticket Ian Cuthbert four on power bait, Robert and son Rory Scott four each on power bait, day ticket Harry Cuthbert three on the Damsel, W. Ure three Rainbow for 6½lbs on a floating worm, John Balfour two rainbow for 4¾lbs on power bait, W. McIntosh two, M. Spence one. Among the others happy with one were J. Currie, R. Wilson and Scott Boyd.
The next major competition is The John Baillie Memorial Trophy on Sunday, July 3 when a good attendance would be appreciated.

Bait pond: Victory bar a/c from Givan visited on Sunday the winner with the heaviest catch was Alex Anderson with two at 4lb 2oz, Lenny Ingram two kept, Lenny Ingram jnr two kept, Stuart Davids two kept, Davie McGill two kept, Paul Eaglesham two kept, Hugh Kyle two kept, Glen Russell two kept, Brian Russell two kept, Brad Wilson jnr two kept, all getting their quota. Worms/power bait favoured.
COYLE WATER:Two Week Report. Fly Pond: Weed was back with a vengeance, but has now been cleared again.Ewan Dawson released three on Buzzards. John Walker, Ayr, released one on a Lure. Mr. McMillan, Loch Lomond, chapped five for 11.2lb on a yellow dancer.
Mr. McRae, Edinburgh, chapped two for 4lb on a Daddy. N. Follon, Ayr, chapped one for 2.3lb on Montana.
Mr. Evans, Troon, chapped one and released three on a yellow dancer. Mr. Mcgregor, Cumnock, chapped two and released four on a White Cat Damsel. Mr. Naismith, also from Cumnock, chapped one and released two. Mr Scott, Kilmours, chapped two and released six. Bait Pond: Shug Patterson, Mossblown, chapped two for 5.32lb. A. Skee, Drongan, got two for 5lb. G. McGilvery, Stewarton, five for 12lb.
