AYRSHIRE orienteering stars won three gold, four silver and one bronze medals at the Scottish Individual Championships and relays in Perthshire.
The individual event on Saturday was in the tough physical forests of Auchingarrich and Mill of Fortune. And the Scottish Relay Orienteering Championships on Sunday were in Drummond Castle Estate and Torlum Woods.
All the courses lived up to their physical nature and most times were longer than expected, partly due to storms in the preceding week.
Tom Nichol from Prestwick Academy won gold while Tony Condy from Marr College took silver on the same course.
Joe Cherry (Belmount Academy) won gold on his course while Pat Flanagan, the club mapper, took gold after a splendid run on his course. Pat’s wife Brigid, the club’s head coach, took bronze on her course.
In the relays, Bob Cherry, son Joe, and Dougie Condy took silver.
