COYLE WATER FISHERY (Coylton): a good week with some better than average fish being caught and the majority catching their limits.

On the bait, powerbait 1 -2 feet down from the float is doing really well. Not many anglers have tried worms or maggots as powerbait is working so well but will surely still be as effective.

On the fly, lures are coming into their own now, damsels and buzzers have had quite good results but the bigger flies seem to be working best now.

The old bait pond will re-open on Saturday. As a result, the fly pond will once again be fly only.

RAITH RESERVOIR (Prestwick): a quiet week despite the lovely weather but not an unproductive one for those trying their luck.

John Lothian had seven, father and son team Davie and Kane Lamont had a good result with dad two rainbow for 7lbs 4oz on fluorescent orange power bait and two chartreuse power bait for 5lbs 6oz, son Kane two on chartreuse power bait for 7lbs 8oz, Tony Armstrong three on a green and white fritz and one on the worm but in his excitement he forgot the weight, J. Obviously no show stoppers among them as no weights were recorded.
