SRPINGWATER FISHERY (Dalrymple): fly pond fishing well but the loch wasn't as busy due to weather.

The rain raised the water level and freshened it up. Best catch was Mr Cain with seven fish, fishing daddy longlegs.

Bait pond also improved with all the rain. Best catch was S. McKinney from Ardrossan with five fish for 10lbs caught on worm and maggot.

Coarse pond still fishing well. Mike Weed had between 25 and 30lbs of mainly skimmers and small carp.

On the fly: with temperatures dropping and not so much fly life, lures are starting to do the business again. Nymphs and buzzers doing well also.

The old bait pond will re-open as bait only to coincide with the salmon season finishing and the new coffee shop/restaurant opening its doors for business. As a result, the fly pond will once again be fly only. Details and dates to follow.
